Yoji Kuri, the creator of “Flower,” went on to become one of the leading figures in the history of Japanese independent animation and one of the founders of the “Animation Association of Three,” which brought upon a renaissance of Japanese animated films for adults. (Source)

“Flower” is one of the 12 winners of a contest hosted by the 1967 Montreal International Film Festival.  These films were then included in the compilation “The World of Man” be Albert Fisher, which went on to become a cult film that is now being made available to the general public for the first time in over 40 years!
